Blurbs From the Branch: In the Mood for a Creepy Read??

helpforthehauntedLast night I finished reading Help for the Haunted, by John Searles, and I loved it! Sylvie, the book’s 15-year-old narrator, witnessed her parents’ murder in a dark church one snowy night in February. A few months later, she is still trying to piece together exactly what she saw that night, and everything that led up to it. Sylvie’s parents worked as paranormal investigators of sorts, helping people who are haunted by ghosts or possessed by demons. Chapters alternate between Sylvie’s present, and the few years leading up to her parents’ deaths. This book is quiet, creepy, and beautifully written. Searles takes his time revealing answers to all of Sylvie’s questions, and the ending is worth every turned page. I highly recommend this book to anyone in the mood for an excellent read that won’t disappoint!
