Kid’s Corner: Family Movie Night

Filed under: Info — jennytf @ 8:00 am

We’ve started a new tradition at our house by having a family movie night once a week.  It’s been a challenge for me to find movies that will appeal to everyone but I think we’ve had some successful evenings (nevermind the night where everyone ended up crying at the end of Fluke).  When I asked my family for their recommendations, here’s what each of them suggested:

Jack, age 7, recommends the movies Thunderstruck and Shorts.
His sister Viola, age 5 recommends Once upon a mattress and Nanny McPhee

My husband really enjoyed the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series of movies and the newest Karate Kid.

And for me, I’ll watch just about anything as long as we’re all together.  But I think my favorites are always the ones that make me laugh, like Up and Despicable Me.

If you need some more suggestions try the website, commonsensemedia.org.  You can find lists of recommended movies plus reviews and content of just about any movie out there.
