outsideyourwindwoWhat is better than looking out your window and seeing a colorful bird flying by, or a glorious flower blooming right by your windowsill?  A beautifully illustrated book about them!  Outside Your Window: A First Book of Nature, by Nicola Davies, is a book for all ages, filled with paintings and poems about creatures and plants you might come across on your daily adventures, whether you are walking in the city or traipsing through the country.  The paintings and poems really capture the essence of nature and make you more aware of all those little things you might pass by, but should certainly stop and appreciate.  The poem “Patchwork Pigeons” has given me a new appreciation for the pigeons I see flying by on my way to work.  You might be surprised by those everyday things you see and miss – check this book out and be inspired!
